Incomparable control
There’s no shortage of parameters aboard the powerful Kaamos. Curate your ideal drive effect by determining the total degree of distortion with Drive, plus its volume and presence within the signal through Drive Level and Blend — the latter of which boasts press assignment to one of three effect loop positions: after the octaver, after the distortion, and in parallel with the signal chain. Drive Mod further enables artists to balance the mix of both drive circuits with additional sculpting power from Tone, which also offers a press function to make both DI and Cab-sim modes available when outputting over an XLR connection.
On the octave front, the Kaamos packs in Octave Filter, Clean Level, and Octave Level parameters for impressively detailed octave refinement. The first control, Octave Filter, provides lowpass frequency filtering for your octave-down effect with a press function for selecting monophonic mute/flip and polyphonic types. After that, Clean Level and Octave Level respectively adjust the octaver circuit’s clean and low octave signal intensity, with the latter dial sporting a press function for series/parallel effect positioning.

Workhorse connectivity
While the Kaamos stuns with its flexible distortion and octaver delivery, its connection array enables just as much functional versatility for implementation into just about any setup you’re working with. The Kaamos offers the traditional 1/4-inch input and output in addition to 1/4-inch Send/Return for your effect loop. But that’s not all! You also have a 1/4-inch Sub-octave output for sending the low octave signal of the Kaamos through to a secondary amplifier. Finally, a balanced XLR terminal enables flawless usage with PA systems, microphone preamps, and more.
Amos Heller
Hailing from Charlottesville, Virginia, first-rate 4-stringer and seasoned producer Amos Heller has spent decades mastering his craft onstage alongside some of music’s most exciting country, blues, and rock acts. Since 2007, he’s found tremendous success carrying the live bass line for pop superstar Taylor Swift, most recently backing her historic 149-show Eras Tour. Now, Amos has used his professional prowess to join forces with the mad tone scientists at Darkglass to devise a 4-string-specific distortion and octaver like the industry has never seen — bassists here at Sweetwater can’t get enough!
